Infant Care
Infant Care supports quality care for children six weeks to one year. We will provide a safe and healthy environment with Certified care givers to promote the optimal development of physical and cognitive growth. Our care givers have been instructed to provide an atmosphere as close to home as possible. They are required to play, hold, sing, and interact with the infants as much as time will allow.
Ratio: 4 children to 1 caregiver
CPR
Infant and Child Certification is required by all caregivers. Newly hired teachers will be given 6 months to complete this requirement.
SIDS Policy
DHFS requires all staff in licensed daycare facilities to complete SIDS Training. This training recommends that all infants sleep on their BACKS only. No exceptions will be made unless you provide Extended Love Child Development Center with a written Dr. Authorization. Further SIDS information is provided to each family with a child under 12 months of age.
Toddler Care
Toddler care focuses on socialization with an emphasis on manners, play, exploration, music, art and large/small motor skills. We introduce colors and shapes through stories and fingerplays. We will help you begin potty training when you feel your child is ready. Please read further on Potty Training.

Potty Training
One of the major goals in the Toddler Program is potty training. We are really excited to be a part of helping you and your child reach that important goal.
When your child shows consistency with going on the potty chair for several days, we will ask you to bring in “Pull Ups.” Please do not send your child to school in diapers and then supply us with Pull Ups if they are now showing consistent interest in using the potty chair. We understand your excitement to get them into Pull Ups. It is very cumbersome for us to completely undress and redress your child if their Pull Up is consistently wet. They do not understand the concept at this point.
Once they have mastered the “Pull Ups” (keeping them dry AND recognizing the urge to go) THEN we will ask you to bring underpants and several changes of clothes to begin the final steps of potty training. Potty training is not an easy task. Pushing your child into the next step too soon will only cause frustration for them and for you (us too!!) So, let’s work together to make it as successful as possible with the least amount of stress.
Pre-School Care
Our three year olds will be exposed to a more structured, hands-on environment. We will be introducing children to a thematic approach to learning. Their daily curriculum will include circle time, art, music, stories, math activities, sensory and dramatic play. They will also have periods of free play and outside time everyday. The children will be learning throughout the entire day, but the more structured activities will occur between 8:30am and 11:30am.
